Note : This is a special (personal) post for the fellow female sneaker lovers.
I got myself a pair of the NB's Evergreen Classics, the 500.
The 500 comes in many colors for you to choose from, from bright colors that stand out to laid back plain black & white.
Mine is GM500LG which is a shade of Light Purple, very girlish.. but then I am the kind who doesn't like to be "common" and be seen using the same thing as anyone else...
so I decided to bling up my sneakers..
the tools i need :-
- tweezer
- epoxy glue
- crystals/rhinestones (i'm using swarovski crystals as it's more shiny)
How :-
- sketch/plan what do you want to bling, eg: I am going to bling the N on my sneakers.
- mix both tube of the glue together on a piece of paper with the ratio of 1:1
- apply the glue onto the part you wish to stick your crystals on with a tip/stick (i use the plastic spatula which comes with the glue)
- lightly hold crystals with tweezer and place them onto the glue.
- wait for glue to dry (depending on the glue you use, every glue has different setting time).
- when it's 80% dry, press crystals lightly onto surface to set it firmer.
...and then you're done!
this is my finished product.
:) that's my shoes, blinged...
p/s : whether you're using commercial rhinestones or expensive swarovski crystals, please do not use Super Glue. I know it adheres very quickly but it WILL ruin your stones/crystals. I think epoxy adheres better & firmer than commercial super glue.. and it allows you to move your objects to adjust the positioning. Otherwise you can get those hot-fix swarovski crystals which has a layer of adhesive at the bottom which you can iron-on, minus all the hassles of glue-ing..
hope you girls enjoy reading this girlish post!
Have a good day!
